小型轧机的开发为实验和科研提供了不少方便，本文对我校精密铜实验室现用轧机进行了改进，采用了齿轮变位啮合办法实现了轧机对轧制厚度的控制，改进后的轧机采用三组齿轮啮合，其中两组齿轮的轴线可分别沿竖直滑轨和弧形滑轨滑动，从而实现对轧制厚度的控制。
