This paper systematically summarized and analyzed general development characteristics of soil profile CaCO3 in Loess hill gully area including source, content, forming-condition, distribution and illuviation- depth of CaCO3, which will have the most important significance for the further studies on global soil and climate change.Soil CaCO3 eluviation-illuviation is a relatively complicate process, soil CO2 is one of the important effect factors, which influences soil CaCO3 through controlling soil pH value and CaCO3 solution capability.

碳酸钙在土壤剖面中淀积的深度和类型是黄土高原土壤发育的重要标志，钙积层是黄土高原土壤发育环境的历史信息库，同时土壤碳酸钙作为土壤无机碳库重要组成，它通过溶蚀后再结晶与大气CO_2之间进行物质交流来影响全球气候变化。

It not only arains natural resources day by day and decreases the biological diversity,but also seriously prevents the Loess platean's area econnomy from developing continuingly,then threatens the local people's living and development,thus,the study and governing of biological degeneration should be regarded seriously.

The lithologic characters changed from fluviolacustrine sandstone to aeolian Red Clay with thin interval of greyish-white sand layers at the depth of 602 m. It can be inferred from the rock strata and age that the development age of aeolian sequence in Lanzhou area was 7 Ma at least, which is in accordance with the bottom age (7~8 Ma) of the aeolian sequence of the eastern and central Loess Plateau, suggesting that their accumulation processes are unitary.

皋兰山剖面深度602 m处出现由河湖相砂岩向以风成红粘土为主常夹有薄层砂岩的地层转变，通过岩性地层及年代的推断，兰州地区的风尘序列堆积发育的年代至少为7 Ma，与黄土高原风尘序列堆积底界8～7 Ma基本一致，说明了兰州地区与黄土高原在风尘序列堆积过程中具有统一性。
