As the-bone is loaded, both compression and distraction occur at the fracture site. Because micromotion at the fracture ends occurs within the limits that the callus will allow.

Results Total 6 knee joint and 2 ankle of 8 patients ,18 bone infarctions were found, 5 were located in the distal femur,5 in the proximal tibia,3 in the femoral shaft,1 in the tibial shaft,2 in the distal end of tibia and 2 in the trochlea tali,no fibula involvement.

结果： 8例患者6个膝关节，2个踝关节，共18处病灶：股骨远端5处，胫骨近端5处，股骨干3处，胫骨干1处，胫骨远端2处，距骨滑车2处，腓骨未见受累。

Results (1) Primary callus came into being 3 days after operation. Mesenchymal cells from peripheral tissues around the primary callus were differentiated into chondrocytes 1 week later. Endochondral ossification was going on then. Bridging callus was formed in the fracture sites 4 weeks after operation.
