Raffles Education Group set up Dong Hwa University-Raffles Design Institute with China Textile University (now known as Dong Hwa University), which was the first Sino-foreign Cooperation in education industry in China. We have colleges in other places in China. The interschool platform has been expanded to Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and other cities.

Tao received his BA and MA in history from Shandong University and later joined in the university as a faculty member. In 2001 he received his PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and became a history professor at the School of Liberal Arts of Shanghai University, where he is now the executive vice-dean.
