修订后的标准，增加了座椅扶手、脚蹬等新结构件的术语、定义和技术要求，突出了客车座椅的安全性、可靠性和调节机构的使用方便性，从零部件要求、装配要求、调节功能、安全性和可靠性方面制定了相应的技术要求和试验方法，特别是提出了对座椅用材料有害物质的限值要求，这在国内还是首次。
