A novel anion exchange membrane with chitosan and quaternized chitosan has been prepared and the primary structure characterization has been performed by FTIR. The influence of various chitosan/quaternized chitosan compositions and the amounts of glutaraldehyde on properties of ion exchange membranes was discussed. The ion transference number and the selective permeability have been estimate by testing membrane potential method.
