It is suggested that mechanisms protecting epidermis of squamata species from UVB damage may involve in (1) Physical defensive mechanism: the death epidermal layer limited UVB transmitting to the viable cells;(2) Biochemical defensive mechanism: up-regulated CAT may protect skin from reactive oxygen species which may induced by UVB.
