Objective: To analyze the relation ship between Streptococcus mutans, Actinomyces and dental root surface caries.

Methods: Streptococcus mutans and Actinomyces in 30 cases of dental root surface caries are studied quantitatively by selective media.

Results The positive detecting rate of aerobe bottle against aerobe was 100%, Sensitivity was 10 CFU/ml. The positive detecting of anaerobe bottle against anaerobe was 100%, Sensitivity against peptococcus niger, Peptostreptococcus anerobius, bacteroides fragilis was 10 CFU/ml, 100 CFU/ml, 1000 CFU/ml, respectively.

Methods: 1 Ornidazole and Pefloxacin are divided to six levels, in order to measure the changes of antiblastic indexes of different proportions of Ornidazole and Pefloxacin against Pg, Fn, Pi, and Peptostreptococcus spp. Statistical test is used to seek the indistinctive ranges of antibacterial activities of Ornidazole and Pefloxacin against those four kinds of typical periodontal pathogens, and to find the suitable proportion.

This Program Project is composed of five projects and an administrative core unit. The specific aims of Project 1 are to study the roles of SPE B, SPE A, M protein and NADase to correlate with bacterial virulence and disease severity in different clinical spectra of GAS infections.
