在理论研究的基础上，结合实际需要，研究设计了一种定向钻井导航系统，使用该系统进行定向穿越施工的工作过程如下：在施工前，根据实际情况，先设计一条最佳穿越路线，存入系统；在钻进中，系统通过对井轨的井斜、方位等参数的测量，对其进行实时监测；地面的司钻手通过对显示仪所显示的实际井轨参数及设计井轨参数进行比较，根据经验操纵操作杆，调整钻机前进方向，以达到对钻进过程的控制，最终实现定向钻井。
