Honey is a widely known natural food. Bees gathered the nectar in flowers and take it back, then process and condense it into this translucence, sticky and thick sweet liquid. It's a tough job to gather nectar. A bee can only get 20mg nectar per time. To get 1kg nectar, the worker bee need to fly 500,000-600,000 times and to produce 1kg honey, a worker bee needs to gather the nectar from 1500-1600 flowers. If a bee gathers nectar just in a place one kilometer away from its comb, then it needs to fly 3 kilometers to fulfill a honey bursa. And to produce 1kg honey, it needs to fly 360,000-450,000 kilometers, which equals to fly around the earth for 8.5-11 circles. So it's not exaggerated to say each drop of honey is a crystal of hard working.

Nine wethers selected from a group at 2-years-old of age were fed with fresh mixtures of Leymus chinensis (30%), Cleistogenes squarrosa (20%) and Artemisia frigida (50%) in known proportions and amounts for 14 days. Artificial QSM capsules were dosed during the experiment. The samples of herbage and feces were collected daily for 7 days and dried for analysing the n-alkane concentration by a gas chromatography. The results showed that there was a difference in concentration of n-alkanes among 3 species forages, and fecal recoveries of n-alkanes linear increased with increasing carbon chain lengths.

于2004年秋季在中国科学院内蒙古草原生态系统定位研究站用不同放牧演替阶段的优势植物羊草、糙隐子草和冷蒿按一定比例混合组成日粮，饲喂9只2岁羯羊，每只羊投喂一粒QSM胶囊，试验期内每天记录绵羊实际牧草采食量、采食成分和排粪量，利用气相色谱分析牧草和粪样的链烷含量，应用链烷技术测定绵羊的排粪量、不同牧草采食比例和总干物质采食量，并与实际值进行比较。

The results show that: double and heavy machine-plucking increase bud density and one-leaf and one-bud yield in autumn. They also remarkably decrease bud weight, length and fitting ratio for processing of Bailumaojian tea. Among the 4 treatments, light machine-plucking has the largest one-leaf and one-bud yield fitting for processing famous Bailumaojian tea. Chemical analysis shows that leaves of four treatments are all fit for processing famous Bailumaojian tea, while those of no machine-plucking treatment have the best organoleptic quality.

结果表明：2次机采和重度机采处理显著增加秋季茶芽密度和1芽1叶初展鲜叶产量，显著降低单个芽头的平均重量、长度及符合加工白露毛尖茶芽大小标准的茶芽合格率；符合加工白露毛尖茶芽大小标准的1芽1叶初展鲜叶产量轻度机采处理最高；内含成分分析表明，4个处理秋季1芽1叶初展鲜叶均适宜加工白露毛尖茶，以不机采对照处理感官品质最好。
