By employing such a method, 5 series of elastomers, including natural rubbers, elastomeric polyester fibers and ethylene-octene, ethylene-methyl acrylate as well as SIS triblock copolymers, were investigated with the purpose of studying elongation induced phase structure and mobility changes of the samples. For NR samples, it was demonstrated that there exists a small amount of crystals at RT even for unelongated samples. For both NR and the soft segment of PEE, with the increase of elongation ratio, the elongation-induced crystallinity increases almost linearly in a certain region of R, in accord with the increase of the lamellar thickness of the crystals; The behavior of ethylene copolymers, in terms of elongation induced morphorpholgy changes, are quite different from NR and PEE. The crystals are found to be gradually destroyed with the increase of R, with accord with the decrease of the lamellar thickness; The motional behavior of the soft segment of SIS, changes from "liquid" to "solid", in terms of 13C NMR spin-lattice relaxation.For many of the aformented samples, the dependence of 13C spin-lattice relaxtion time T1 on R are different for different groups, indicating that the changes of mobility at MHz frequency region with elongation are different for different groups.

On the other hand, a method for the synthesis of-vinyl chalcogenides by the coupling of vinyl bromides with thiols or diphenyl diselenide using copper salts as catalysts in ionic liquids based on amino acids also has been described. The ionic liquids play multiple roles in the reaction: they act as solvent, base, and excellent promoter for the copper-catalyzed coupling reactions.

This thesis included three parts:(1)The study of the complexation and threaded structures based on the benzo-21-crown-7/secondary dialkylammonium salt recognition motif;(2)Secondary dialkylammonium salt can thread through the cavity of pyrido-21-crown-7 to form the threaded structures;(3)The study of the size of macrocycle rings which can complex with secondary dialkylammonium salts.

In this thesis, this system is used for epoxidation of propylene and styrenewith good results. The solvent effect is investigated for epoxidation of styrene. In the mixedsolvent of dimethyl phthalate / TBP or phenyl ether / TBP, the selectivity for styreneoxide is good but the conversion of styrene is low due to the coordination to thecatalyst of the solvent. When part of dimethyl phthalate or phenyl ether is replacedby toluene, the conversion increases and the selectivity keeps constant.

Apart from its unique performance properties and environmental benefits the Victrex PEEK-based honeycomb provides numerous other advantages including excellent impact resistance; unlike an aluminium or thermosetting honeycomb, PlastiCell's honeycomb will not remain deformed by accidental impacts during machining or assembly of the part and, due to the material's high temperature performance, the honeycombs can operate continuously up to 220°C (428°F, a thermoformable honeycomb core allows for the production of parts with short cycle times using an autoclave-free process. There is no size constraint as it is possible to make an endless honeycomb using PlastiCell's manufacturing process. Part size limitation is dictated by the hydraulic press platen size.
