The results showed that the size of spherule formed with 5% of SA and 11% of PVA was appropriate and elastic, furthermore, 5% SA could keep the enzymatic activity better, it is higher by 16% than 11% PVA, therefore, it is the optimum immobilization conditions.

It was found that ARA was composed of esterification products of (2-HEA)-ester with pimaric acid, dehydroabietic acid, abietic acid and two isomers of acrylpimaric acid. ARA is a good crosslinking agent which can copolymerize with most vinyl monomers. The properties of solvent-resistance and heat resistance of the copolymer were improved considerably by the use of ARA.

Novel sodium 2-2-(alkylaryloxy-alkylamidoethanesulfonates (m+nAr-T, m, n: carbon numbers; Ar: aromatic nucleus; T: taurine) with high purity were synthesized through bromization, esterification, Fries rearrangement, Pd-catalyzed hydrogenation, Williamson reaction, and acylation, et al, using carboxylic acid, phenol and taurine as starting materials. The structures and purities were characterized.

Secondly, methyl acetoacetate was converted to 6-ethylthiohept-3-en-2-one by three steps via hydrolysis, condensation with 3-ethyltio-butanal and dehydration, then 6-ethylthiohept-3-en-2-one was cycloco ndensed with dimethyl malonate by Michael addition and Claisen condensation, followed by saponification and decarboxylation to give the intermediate of 5-(2-ethylthiopropyl)-cyclohexane-1,3-dione.
