DHCC类物质在化学上属于不发光的环戎烷多氢菲类，但与酸性物质一起反应时，可转化为产生荧光的酚类。用乙醇硫—酸或乙酸酐—二氯甲烷—硫酸处理后的DHCC进行荧光检测，获得标准曲线0—40μg/ml范围内呈线性关系，检出的最高灵敏度可达300ng/ml。该方法可用于分离后的DHCC及单一种DHCC代谢物的定性及定量分析。
