Saponins, steroid saponins, which are rich and play the most important physiologically active compounds in yam. The studies of steroid saponins of other plants found that glycone on saponins played an important physiological activity. Because of the structural differences between saponin glycosides with different forms and sapogenin resulting from the removal of glycone by hydrolysis on saponins , caused the different physiological effect.

By following the "self-assisted molecular editing" protocol first established in our labs,a number of Aphos ligands were efficiently prepared from a single starting material and they were screened for catalytic efficacy, leading to the discovery of the best-performing Aphos appended with a 3-nitrophenyl group at the C4 position.Combination of this Aphos with Pd_2 offers a precatalyst for successful cross-coupling of unactivated aryl chlorides with aryl boronic acids at room temperature.The reactions took place under mild basic conditions to produce the products in high yields.

This paper has made further studies on the synergistic interaction and stability of salt tolerance between xanthan gum and other common food gums. It turns out that there is no synergistic interaction between xanthan gum and hydroxypropyl starch , CMC-Na. Xanthan gum and guar gum ,locust bean gum ,konjak flour have great synergistic interaction. If two or three of them mix with proper proportion, the stability of salt tolerance will greatly improve and the consumption is less than any other simple gum, further more, the cost will decrease a lot. So the complex thickeners have a obvious superiority and wide utilization in high salty food.
