西南桦人工林的乔木层在旱季落叶，而山地雨林外貌为高大、常绿、茂密的阔叶林，即使旱季也仍保持林冠葱绿的外貌，乔木层可明显的分为3层，林下比较空旷，灌木植被少见，草本植物分散，另外具有高大的木质藤本植物和附生植物。4人工造林对群落的物种生活型谱影响不大。

It was observed that the annual mean hgight and mean diameter at breast height of 28 a trees were 1.06 m and 1.85 cm respectively, the height and DHB in successive years were more than 1.1 m and 2.50 m respectively after planting 5 a especially. Annual mean DHB increased faster than other Dipterocarpaceae species planted in same condition. The growth periods was long, lasted from February December.

该树种在引种地生长迅速，年均生长量分别为1.06 m和1.85 cm，特别是在造林5 a后，生长极为迅速，树高连年生长量超过1.1 m，胸径连年生长量超过2.5 cm，与同一立地条件下栽培的其他国产龙脑香科树种相比，径粗生长超过任何一种树种。
