由于e-PTFE的组织相容性好，在80年代初期一些发达国家已经应用于整形美容外科[1]，尤其应用于隆鼻术、面部凹陷畸形的整复、唇线增高、唇加厚、鼻唇沟过深的整形美容术、耳廓缺损等手术中，学者们认为e-PTFE排斥反应的发生率低，弹性和硬度与软组织相似，周围组织细胞能够长期进入移植物内，不形成纤维囊，在整形美容外科领域有重要的应用价值。
