图形轮廓线的自动别是新一代CAD设计系统必不可少的基本功能，通过对图形轮廓线自动识别技术的探讨，得出一种识别算法的图形轮廓自动识别的主要步骤。

This contour phase correlation method is superior to the conventional phase correlation in two aspects. Firstly, the contours of images are extracted, and the phase correlation is applied to the contours of images instead of the whole original images, which is more efficient and robust. Secondly, when there are multiple peak values approximate to the maximum peak value in the δ function array, the corresponding translations can be regarded as candidate translations and calculated separately, and the best translation should be determined by the optimization of conformability of two images in the overlapping area.

本轮廓相位相关算法对常规的相位相关算法作了两点改进：(1)提取出图像的轮廓，只对二值化的轮廓图像进行相位相关计算，效率和鲁棒性提高；(2)当相位相关的δ函数阵列中存在多个和最大峰值比较接近的峰值时，将其对应的平移量都作为候选平移量，然后根据重叠区图像的一致性选取其中的最佳值。

In this thesis, we apply Coulomb's law and propose an external force to overcome the problem of traditional ACM that can not capture the cavities of an object. Assume that each node of a snake has its own electric charge, and the object boundary has opposite electric charge. Then object boundary will attract the nodes of the snake. This helps the contour easily to move to the object boundary.

A new curvature-based algorithm in free-form curve fitting was proposed to fit a 2D NURBS profile with an arc spline ,where a new form of curvature formula with matrix representation was also proposed,and then the arc spline tool path with G~(1) continuity was generated.

In this thesis, we implement a computational procedure to categorize and classify 3-D objects from their contour under a simple environment. First, we use foreground detection, Canny edge detection and speedy GVF snake to obtain the object's contour. The contour is then used to establish the object's features. Two databases are built using methods which compute similarity by modified aspect-combination algorithm proposed by Cyr and Kimia and new proposed aspect-combination algorithm. By using these two databases, we recognize 3-D objects using four recognition methods and compare their performance. Finally, a conclusion is made that our newly proposed algorithm is better than the modified algorithm proposed by Cyr and Kimia.

在本论文中，对一个在单纯环境下的三维物体，由撷取到辨识出此物体做了一个完整的实现，首先，利用前景侦测结合肯尼边缘侦测法和加速的梯度向量流动态轮廓侦测法，来得到物体轮廓，接著利用此轮廓找寻出物体的特徵，然后配合计算相似度的方法，代入修改后的Cyr and Kimia的外观结合演算法（aspect-combination algorithm）和新提出的外观结合演算法去建资料库，然后，对於三维物体则依据两种不同方法所建出的资料库，利用四种辨识的方法来辨识并比较其结果，最后得出新提出的外观结合演算法是优於修改后的Cyr and Kimia的外观结合演算法的结论。

In this paper, a boundary chain code tracing method is used to extract the contour information, the process of thinning, de noising, and encoding for contour are realized at one time, so a 1D string represented the 2D contour shape information is obtained, then a contour matching method based on chain code is presented.
