Objective To find out stable position of medial malleolus fracture when trimalleolar fractures are treated by external fixation in dorsiflexion position.

Ankle Foot Orthosis is usually applied for stroke patients to prevent foot drop during swing phase, and provides some range of ankle dorsiflexion after mid stance phase on walking. These conditions cause cyclic tensile and compression force on the AFO, and result in breaking or tearing of AFO after several weeks or months usage. Therefore, it is important for therapists to know what geometric modification of AFO can prolong its usage. The purpose of this study was to develop a motion simulator for observing the effect of simulated heel strike impact and foot dorsiflexion on the AFO. The geometry of motion simulator was designed similar to human leg.

足踝副木经常被使用在中风患者下肢以避免走摆荡期发生垂足现象，同时，副木於站期中期后也能提供些许的踝关节背曲角，此一况导致副木遭受循环的张与挤压，常於星期或个月的使用后，导致副木疲断或撕，因此，让治师解副木的几何外型改设计能延长使用时间是很重要的，也因此，本研究目的为设计一评估副木疲破坏的运动模拟器，用以观察副木遭受模拟的脚跟著地冲击与足踝跖曲与背曲弯折对副木的效应。
