Four primers screened from 17 primers were used to analyze genetic diversity between one population in the mine deposits and one in noncontaminated soil, the results showed that a higher level of DNA diversity was detected in the plants grown in the mine deposit. The results above indicated that Commelina communis grown in copper mine deposits had evolved adaptation under heavy metal stress, and such adaptation had a geneic basis.
