After treated by mannital and VitC, the level of CPK and MDA in serum was lower, but SOD activity rasied, and the ultrastructure was better.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: One hundred patients with lower urinary tract symptoms were instructed to keep a 3-day voiding diary. Patients were instructed to record the time and volume of their water intake, voided urine volume, and number and time of sensation of urgency and episodes of urge incontinence. Patients were diagnosed according to their clinical findings as having a normal bladder, hypersensitive bladder, overactive bladder, polydipsia polyuria, or nocturnal polyuria. Thirty-six patients underwent a urodynamic study to further assess their lower urinary tract dysfunction, for which urodynamic results were classified as a normal bladder, detrusor overactivity, or bladder hypersensitivity.

With hypnone and phenylaldehyde as raw material, amount of catalyst 7.5% wt% of material, mole ratio of hypnone and phenylaldehyde 1:1.1, reaction temperature 40℃, after 3 hours, the yield of chalcone can be up to 96.88%. With cyclohexanone as raw material, amount of catalyst 10% wt% of material, reaction temperature 190℃, after 3 hours, dimmer of cyclohexanone can be up to 85.66%.

The free radical scavenging properties of six Aloe species are to be investigated in some modified chemical system. The antioxidant was purified by silica column and thin layer chromatography and analyzed by HPLC. A fraction was purified from A. brevifolia Mill showed the most effective scavenging activities on 〓 and ·OH (66. 01% and 38. 98% respectively). With the analysis of IR spectrum, UV spectrum and mass spectrum, the structure of FA was identifed as 8-C-D-glucopyranosyl-2- [2-hydroxy] propyl-5-methyl-7-hydroxychromone. Its scavenging activity on free radicals is higher than that of aloe-emodin. Its antioxidant activity may be due to the phenoxyl on glucosyl chromone which can be react with free radicals and form relatively stable free radicals.
