Lysine content, kernel phenotype, zein accumulation and opaque-2 gene sequence of four maize inbred lines (CA335, CA339, Lu2548 and Qi205) were investigated in this study. These QPM inbred lines as the donor of Opaque-2 mutant gene (o2) respectively, were backcrossed to introgression o2 into elite maize inbred lines based on marker-assisted.
