The role of nitric oxide in abscisic acid-induced antioxidant defense in leaves of maize plants was investigated. Treatments with SNP or ABA enhanced the activities of chloroplastic, apoplastic and total superxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione reductase and ascorbate peroxidase in leaves of maize plants.
