First, it begins with the study of the centralized CFAR detection with multiple sensors. The non-CFAR problem is analyzed; the necessity for local CFAR processing is established. At last, the invariant test is used to reveal the essence of CFAR processing. It explains the necessity of local CFAR processing in the distributed CFAR detection at a higher level.
