Maybe it is true that western translation theories are more systematic than traditional Chinese theories or ideas, and we can surely learn a lot from a profound study of westerntranslation theories. However, if we want to establish a theory of translation with universal validity, we should not be satisfactory with only an introduction of western translation theories.
