Qinghai Tibetan opera belong to Amdo type, as early as the mid-18th century,the monks who were in Longwu Monastry Tongren County Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai went to Tibet to study, by the influence of Tibetan opera in Tibet,to recommend to Amdo region,stadied in monastry, and added into the Amdo Tibetan areas of music, dance and folk art rap artists nutrition,perform in Amdo dialect, became Amdo Tibetan opera that different from Tibetan opera in Tibet.

青海藏戏属于安多藏戏，早在18世纪中叶，青海黄南藏族自治州同仁县隆务寺僧人去西藏学习，受到西藏藏戏的熏陶，引进到安多地区，在寺院学演藏戏，并融入了安多地区藏族音乐、舞蹈和说唱曲艺等艺术营养，且以安多方言演出，成为有别于西藏藏戏的安多藏戏。
