Methods: Twenty ASA Ⅱ~Ⅲ patients aged 28~69 years were randomly divided into 2 groups:(1)3-mins group (n=10).(2)8 deep breathings group (8DB). Arterial blood samples were drawn with a fraction of inspired oxygen of 0.21for arterial blood gas analysis. Before induction of anesthesia, patients in 3 mills group were asked to breathe normally for 3 mins during which 100% oxygen at 10 L/min through an anesthesia mask attached to a circle system with soda lime was adopted, and adjustable pressure limiting valve was kept open.
