The rate of excellent and good functional recovery of hip was 94.0%. Postoperative internal-fixation-related complications occurred in 31 cases, including hip varus in 14 cases who had posterior intertrochanteric fragments, delayed union of fracture in 12 cases who had fractured calcar and lesser trochanter and massive dissection of soft tissues, and cutting-out of lag screws in five cases, three of whom had to receive prosthetic replacement.

Thirty cadaveric femurs were randomly allocated into five groups, each with 6 femurs. An osteotomy was made (Pauwels angle 70°) in the middle of the femoral neck. Then each group was fixed using one of these methods:①Dynamic Hip Screw ;②Three 4mm Steinn Pins that placed in accordance with the compressive trabeculae and clingy to the femoral calcar ;③One compressive screw;④Low angle fixation of external fixator;⑤High angle fixation of external fixator.
