发明人多年来对雷公藤根、茎、叶等植物组织用酸水提取法、乙醇提取法、氯仿热提甲醇沉淀法提取的浸提物进行了杀虫谱和杀虫效果的研究，发现雷公藤浸提物对众多农业害虫和园林树木害虫具有较好的防治效果，其对害虫的作用方式有胃毒作用、触杀作用、拒食作用、熏蒸作用、麻醉作用。
