AnotIT Catalonian tradition is the Caganer, a Christmas statue searched in nativity scenes in Andorra and parts of Spain, Italy, and Portugal.

To expand their territory, many sailors sent on board for adventures. Before they departed, songs were sung to express these painful departures. These tunes gradually turned into fado.
