I live on the lovely island of guernsey,that is the island sistered with Jersey, and on the Liberation day all the local people will be getting drunk and eating-more ,and enjoying the festivities.

During the actual handfasting/wedding ceremony we did lock him up in the location's house and once again during dinner (health regulations required we do this while we were eating), but for the most part he was on his own and just like any other guest, allowed to roam free and enjoy the festivities!
