大豆是由古四倍体演变而来的二倍体自花授粉作物，种内遗传变异程度低，基因组较大并含有广泛的复制区和丰富的重复序列，染色体又很小，难于进行细胞遗传学研究，这使得大豆遗传作图研究明显落后于其它作物。
