Methods Ninety-six female simple obesity patients with phlegm-damp retention in the interior due to spleen deficiency were equally randomized into two groups by simple random method. Groups A (n=48) and B (n=48) were given dietary control, acupuncture on acupoints of Zusanli (ST36), Pishu (BL20) and Feishu (BL13), and catgut-embedment in auricular points of spleen, stomach and tri-energizer.
