From January 2005 to August 2006, 83 cases of CSM who underwent surgery in Tianjin Hospital were enrolled. Among which, there were 48 male and 35 female. The average age was 52 years old (ranging from 35 to 65). 65 cases operated anteriorly and 18 cases posteriorly.

选择2005年1月至2006年8月在我院脊柱外科手术治疗的脊髓型颈椎病患者83例，男48例、女35例；年龄35~65岁，平均52岁；前路减压手术65例，后路减压手术18例。

结果 平均随诊 13个月，前路手术 2 3例，术后腰痛消失，神经功能按Frankel分级，均有 1～ 3级的改善，椎体高度恢复，无丢失，脊柱融合好；后路手术 37例中，9例骨折复位不满意，残留腰痛和神经功能不全。

The prevertebral heights increase is not unlimited between different reduction process of L1 fracture, and it is limited by spinal anatomy on the late phase of reduction. Knowing these features is useful for us to treat the patients and improve the devices.
