Suicide gene therapy is a new experimental form of cancer chemotherapy that is currently being evaluated in human trials. Cytosine deaminase is an enzyme found in a variety of bacteria and fungi where is capable of deaminating cytosine to uracil.

The team developed a siRNA product that specifically blocks the transcription of the gene that codes for IL-8, thereby blocking production of this protein, and encases it in a liposome delivery system. In mouse studies, this product showed activity against 2 ovarian cancer cell lines, both when used alone and when used in combination with docetaxel. In addition, the mouse studies revealed that the product was decreasing tumor growth through anti-angiogenic mechanisms — the treated tumors showed a lower microvessel density, the researchers report. This product was "highly effective in our preclinical studies and may merit clinical development," they write. However, they also caution that the cell lines used to create the mouse models might not accurately reflect the heterogeneity seen in human tumors.

RESULTS: NK cells represent a unique subset of lymphocytes that have no restriction by MHC antigens and have the ability to lyses certain tumor cells without the requirement for prior immune sensitization of the host. In addition, NK cells can also produce cytokines and regulate the function of other immune cells. So, it is emerging to apply NK cells as therapeutic agents against a broad range of malignancies. In this respect, the anti-tumor activity of NK cells is the key factor of NK-cell-based immunotherapy.

Cases had left - sided diseases and 39 had right . 75 cases who had tumors less than 8 cm in diameter were treated by transabdominal laparoscopic radical nephrectomy. 10 cases who had tumors more than 8 cm in diameter were treated by hand - assisted transperitoneoscopic radical nephrectomy. Results :In 84 of 85cases , nephrectomies were undergone successfully by laparoscopic procedure.

2000 年10 月～2009年8月共收治肾癌85例，男性47例，女性38例，年龄30～80 岁(平均57 岁)，肾上极有25例，肾中极有36例，肾下极有24例；肿瘤平均直径4.8cm，左侧46例，右侧39例， 75例肿瘤直径小于8 cm ，采用经腹腹腔镜肾癌根治术。10例肿瘤直径大于10 cm ，采用手辅式腹腔镜肾癌根治术。
