While they belong to different categories of art, the abstract music and concrete visual art---- painting do share something in common. Hence, the question of how to integrate the two, making the "invisible" music picturesque and "silent" paintings pleasant to the ear has been long under discussion.

抽象的听觉艺术音乐和具象的视觉艺术绘画既属于不同表现形式的艺术，又存在着共性关系，两者之间如何融合和渗透，如何使"无形"的音乐作品可具有绘画性、"无声"的绘画作品同样可具有音乐性，长久以来就是众多艺术家和理论家所探讨的话题。

Beyond presenting drawings as a primary medium of expression, this exhibition explores artists' multi-relationships with drawing as a muse, a thinking tool or a subject to be revisited in other art forms such as sculpture, animation, performance and installation.

在本展览中，艺术家不只是把绘画视为表达情感、概念的媒介，更誓言表现艺术家与绘画之间的多重关系。绘画是灵感的泉源，是思考的工具，也可以是透过雕塑、动画、表演和装置等创作媒介来重新加以诠释。

Comparing to his past work Shower Room Series, Moveable Painting and Two–Layer Painting, his experimental installation art Shredded Paper of "Nanjing triennium" in 2008 which was a breakthrough of his art.

与之前创作的"浴室绘画"、"活动绘画"、"双重绘画"相比，他于2008年在"南京三年展"开始实验的"碎纸屑"装置可以说是一次个人艺术的跨越。

After Islamic came into being, the Arabian attracted other nations' drawing art results to form Arab Islamic drawing art. Although it was affected by classical, Persian and Chinese drawing art, it always maintained its Islamic style. It was being ripped in the period of Umayyad and Abaas.

Henri Matisse's idea of "Preciseness may not necessarily be truthfulness."is similar to the "likeness and unlikeness"in traditional Chinese painting.

马蒂斯"准确并非真实"的真实观与中国传统绘画中"似与不似"的真实观极为相似，但是马蒂斯的绘画是建立在对自然物象写生的基础上的，而中国传统绘画一般不强调对自然物象的直接写生，而是在渐渐离开对物象的观察之后比照和感受。

Y: I myself am analyzing it while we are talking. Now I would like to bring forward a question of image painting. I personally think, the academic direction of image painting applies itself to the vague limit between image and painting. What's the definition of image?

杨：实际上我们在谈，我自己在慢慢分析，我现在提出一个问题关于影像绘画的问题，我认为影像绘画的学术方向就是要模糊影像和绘画之间的界限，影像的概念是什么呢？

The conclusion was when Chinese classical painting developed toward Tang and Song Dynasty, color that relied mainly on color approached the peak, meanwhile, it lost its major status gradually as the "ink and wash drawing "was booming.

所得出的结论是：中国古典绘画发展到唐宋时期，以色彩为主的"丹青"绘画在走向高峰期的同时，又因"水墨"画的不断"兴盛"而逐步"丧失"其在中国绘画中的主流地位。

It is also related to my understanding of painting. For me, painting is a word, a memory. My thoughts and actions, or a certain purpose born out of it, or a certain reason are what I consider in painting. This assembly of things could appear to be rather absurd at times.

这样的尝试可能会为中国逃避传统的绘画方式拉开序幕，那么，透过这些概念化的作品，我们可以窥见中国艺术家在最近的几十年中，已逐渐地游离开传统绘画对物象和情节的迷恋，并摆脱了常规绘画的尴尬处境，从中分离出敏锐的、逻辑的视觉体验。
