Based on reconstruction example of Fushan Longjiang Town 325 national highway for which at-grade channelizing design is used for the intersections, described hereby are the applicability of channelized intersection, the features of channelized intersection such as the great carrying ability, less cost etc which would raise greatly the safety of vehicles and pedestrians, as well as the key points for the design of channelizing reconstruction of at-grade intersection.

1工程概况佛山市顺德区龙江镇325国道交叉口位于龙江镇的西南部，由325国道、龙洲路、沙龙路3条干道交汇而成，属X型交叉口。3条道路的红线宽度均为70m，横断面布置，325国道为双向八车道，龙洲路、沙龙路为双向六车道。该交叉口原来是环形交叉口形式，在交叉口中央设置了一个直径60m的中心环岛，驶入交叉口的车辆一律绕环岛作逆时针单向行驶。
