On the basis of molecular design and assembly, the polyoxometalate compounds supported by Keggin, Dawson, lacunary Keggin, and Silverton-type etc. polyanions on the basis of well-known and novel polyanions as building blocks were successfully synthesized by the hydrothermal technique, which are"decorated"or"bridged"by organic N-donor and/or O-donor ligands. The study on synthetic conditions and rules for these hybrid compounds and characterization by X-ray crystallography, spectroscopic, thermal, electrochemical and magnetic properties are carried out.

This paper, based on the land utilization change data during 1997 to 2005, applies the information entropy and equilibrium theory to study the temporal-spatial changes in land utilization structure in Lingshui county, with results indicating: a first slow and then a fast rise in information entropy of land utilization structure in Lingshui county and a general trend of rising homogeneity in land utilization structure; the information entropy of land utilization structure ascends from NW to SE, where can be divided into five regions, ecological protected area, resort area, farmland protected area, ecological agricultural construction area and comprehensive industrial developing area; the economic factors and populational structure play a key part in land utilization structure changes via principle componential analysis.

By using multi-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance method we have studied the folding mechanism of staphylococcal nuclease in vitro; the tertiary interactions for folding of SNase fragments into native-like conformation; the interaction between SNase N- and C-terminal subunits; the relationship of enzyme activity with folding and dynamic states of SNase; the structural properties of enzyme protein while exert its function. We have studied the internal motions of thermophilic Archaea protein Ssh10b and mechanism of its heat-resistance using the NMR 1H-15N relaxation and H/D exchange methods. We have determined the 3D solution structure of human translationally controlled tumor protein TCTP and the Ca2+-binding site; determined the 3D crystal structure of human mitoNEET, a novel protein from distinct groups of iron-sulfur proteins; determined the 3D solution structure of a novel chromatin protein Cren7. Determination of SNase-DNA and Archaea protein-DNA complex structures are in progress.

Lastly, in accordance with the actual situations of the prototype structure of mosque pagoda, based on the similar relation of model experiments, a model structure of mosque pagoda with a similar coefficient of 1/10 is designed and fabricated. Earthquake simulating shaking table tests are performed on the model structure of pagoda in the cases the AB type passive control system with SMA dampers is erected or unerected. The leading earthquake responses like the relative drift at the top of the main tower and the small tower, interstory drift ratio, acceleration, and cracking process of the pagodas body etc. are studied. The operational behaviors involving the deformation capacity and energy dissipation capacity is tested for passive control system with SMA dampers under the earthquake excitation, and the corresponding control mechanism and regularity is also analyzed. Furthermore, the performance changes and protection effectiveness is comprehensively evaluated while the model structure of pagoda is seismically protected or not.
