Two needle-shaped crystal chemicals were identificated from a plateau plant Halenia elliptica D. Don. Some analysis methods, such as EA, MS, NMR, FTIR and UV spectrometly, as well as melting point analysis, were used for the characterization of them, results showed that they were 1,3-dihydroxy-4,5,8-trimethoxyxanthone and 1-hydroxy-2,3,4,8-tetramethoxyxanthone.
