1998年4月10日是美国的复活节，4月11日是踰越节，各单位看来都放假两天，我们的NU婿，NU儿专程带领我们到华盛顿特区游览。10日清晨6点35分，我们一家5口由匹兹堡家中驱车出发，至11点左右抵达华盛顿，下塌于宾夕法尼亚街/14街街口的Marriott Hotels 851#房，经午餐及稍事休息后，我们就前往与住地仅一箭之遥的白宫参观接待室，了解明天的参观领票等事宜，之后因时间尚早就想到附近的造币厂，反法西斯展览馆去看看，但均因当天的参观券都已发完而作罢，接着我们就到附近的朝鲜，越南战争纪念碑去逛了逛，第一次较近距离地见到了华盛顿纪念碑，白宫。。。。。。
