An organic cationic flocculant containing quaternary ammonium ion was synthesized using epichlorohydrin, diethylamine and 1, 2-diaminoethane as raw materials. The intrinsic viscosity, charge density and turbidity removal rate of PEFD were determined and its structure was characterized by FT-IR.
