岭南第一关&——梅关，自唐代名相张九龄奉旨开凿驿道后，成为岭南通往中原之要道，老一辈无产阶级革命家陈毅的不朽诗篇《梅岭三章》也诞生于此；闻名海内外的珠玑巷一度是中华民族拓展南疆的聚居地和众多广府人及海外赤子的发祥地，其独特的人文历史，对岭南经济文化产生过深远影响；位于市区的三影古塔是广东省唯一有绝对年代可考的宋塔，至今雄姿犹存；面积达 1800 平方公里的&南雄红层，是世界上不可多得的标准层之一，其中恐龙等古生物化石极为丰富，对地质学和古生物学的研究具有相当重要的科学价值；正实施开发、具有丹霞地貌特征的苍石寨自然风光旅游区，景色怡人。
