神道

Masked under the guise of an externally sanctioned, absolute authority-----such as the "gods"-----or an internally sanctioned absolute authority----such as "mystical" experience----the unphilosophical mind deceives itself into thinking it has arrived at some final, certain knowledge, when in truth the mind has not arrived because there is no arrival; there is no authority; there is just the ever-evolving, living path called wisdom.

以表面的装腔作势为特色的那些绝对权威，诸如"众神"，或自以为"心有所感"的那些诸如体验之类，不过都是些毫无哲学素养的自欺欺人；他们以为自己达到了某个终点，获得了某些绝定不错的道理；而其内心实在无所得的时候，却又认为"本应无所得"；这世界上从来没有权威，有的只是不断的进化过程和我们自己的生活之道，它的名字叫智慧。

Zi Gong learned from Confucius for some time. He was regarded as one of main disciples of Confucius. Today hearing "A man with an unrestful spirit, Tao will not come to him" by the farmer, he felt very abashed and lowered his head without a word.

子贡在孔子那儿学习已经有相当长的一段时间了，他也一直被公认为是孔子的大弟子之一，今天从这位乡下农人这儿听到"神生不定者，道之所不载也"这样的教训，真把他羞的无地自容，他不觉低下了头，一句话也说不出来。

An aspirant had to keep his body, mind, senses, and soul unspotted; had to have a sincere love for God and an ever mounting spirit of yearning.

求道者要保持身体，思想，官能和灵魂的清白；对神有真诚的爱，永远地对灵性向往。

The split between the two groups can hardly be papered over.
