In 2003,on the whole the soils in Wujiang were little acid, pH from 6.40±0.38 to 5.40±0.55now, and the trend of acid was in Tailake region. The available phosphorous in Paddyfield were significantly lower than. the other five land use patterns. As a result,controlling the phosphorous output form vegetable field mulberry yard and other dryland might be more significant to control the non-point pollution in Tailake region.

吴江市土壤基本上属微酸性土壤，2003年耕地监测中土壤pH值由1982年的6.40+0.38变为5.40±0.55，可见近20年来太湖地区普遍存在的酸化趋势；在稻田、林地、桑园、菜地、果园、旱地六种常见的土地利用方式中，稻田土壤速效磷显著低于其它五种利用方式中；因此，在控制太湖地区磷的面源污染上，控制菜地、桑园和其它旱地土壤磷的输出可能更为迫切。
