Meanwhile, it is also illustrates that the smaller chromium carbides have less restriction to formimg thin splats than larger ones, which beneficial to limit the size of pieces removed by impact of the sand particles, and the higher volume fraction of small chromium carbide may effect the erosion through enhancing interlamellar bonding of the splats which leads to increase the erosion resistance of the coating.
