后者在早期主要是血管平滑肌细胞(vascular smooth muscle cell， VSMC)和胶原纤维增多，弹性纤维减少，动脉增厚等，引起动脉的顺应性降低，舒张功能减弱［1～3］；晚期主要表现为动脉粥样硬化和动脉硬化，其中以VSMC的增生和迁移较为突出，其表型也由收缩型转化为合成型［4，5］。
