本文在大量的实测资料和研究成果基础上，利用多种研究手段，以南汇嘴附近水域为研究基地，对南汇嘴附近水域的沉积动力、地貌演变、杭州湾与长江口水沙交换通道分析、芦潮港大型水利工程的工程效果与环境影响，以及GIS技术在南汇及其邻近海岸环境中的应用等问题作了系统的研究和探讨。
