Red terrene and grey terrene are the main compositions of the Badong formation. The former (section 2 and 4) is mostly composed of elastic rock or arenaceous argillaceous rock and the latter (section 1, 3 and 5) is mainly composed of carbonate rock.

研究区的构造样式表现出较大的层次性，总体为盖层滑脱式逆冲褶皱型，其中，以中、上三叠统碎屑岩为主的浅层次，其构造样式主要为紧密型断滑或断展褶皱低角度逆冲断裂，其滑脱面为三叠系下部泥质岩或粉砂质泥岩；以上古生界碳酸岩为主的中深层次，其构造样式推测以冲断和宽缓褶皱为主。
