In the second section, we describe two novel species that were isolated from the Chigu and Szutsao saltern. On the basis of phenotypic, phylogenetic and genetic analyses, these two strains were considered to represent a novel species of the genus Virgibacillus and Marinobacter, and were named Virgibacillus chiguensis and Marinobacter szutsaonensis according to Chigu and Szutsao saltern.
