Chinese Traditional Medicine preparation belongs to the health foodstuffs in America and the harmful elements, such as mercury, arsenic, lead, and cadmium, are controlled severely. The status of Chinese Traditional Medicine is established in Japan, Korea and Singapore, and so on, but the import herbs must be determined.

德国药品法规定：草药成品药物必须符合与其它成品药物相同的质量、安全和疗效标准，进口原料药材需要检测重金属、农残、微生物等指标；中药制剂在美国被列为健康食品范畴，对有害元素砷、汞、铅、镉严格控制；日本、韩国、新加坡等亚洲国家，虽确定了中药的药品地位，但进口药材时法律要求进行等同于欧洲的有关重金属、农残、微生物等指标的法检。
