The cyclic voltammetry tests show that phosphomolybdic acid modified platinum electrode can increase the catalytic activity for methanol oxidation and it is almost the same as the mono-molybdate (Na2MoO4) modified Pt electrode does. This promote effect mainly comes from the transformation of different valency of molybdenum.
